How can IIN help?

IIN can help you either with just your Co-op Internship Visa application or, if you’re eligible for our programs, with your visa + Hospitality Internship placement. Read more about your three options below and choose the one that best suits your situation.
Hospitality Internship Placement + Co-op Internship Visa RO Nomination $995-1300CAD + HST (13%)
If you are a Hospitality, Travel and Tourism or Culinary Arts student in your country of citizenship before, during and after your internship period, then you are eligible for one of our Hospitality Internship Programs in Canada. We will find you the best internship opportunity for you with one of our partner hotels or resorts and be your RO during your IEC Visa application process, to make sure you can obtain your permit faster.
Co-op Internship Visa RO Nomination $800 CAD + HST (13%)
If you are s student in any other field outside the Hospitality umbrella, then we are not able to source an internship placement for you and we can only help with your Co-op/Internship visa nomination through the RO category. You will need to find your own internship placement. However, once you have a placement offer, we can work with you as your RO to make sure your application is dealt with and you receive your Invitation to Apply (ITA) from the Canadian Government.
Direct Application through IEC Pool- FREE
Once you have secured your own internship placement in your field of study, you can apply for your Co-op Internship permit directly through the IEC pool. This process does not require the help of an RO and you only pay $182CAD application fee + biometrics fee.
A direct application into the pool is like a lottery draw, and if you are selected and invited to apply (ITA), the rest of the process may take up to 56 days total.

How long will it take to obtain my IEC Co-op/Internship permit?

All applicants have 20 days to complete, submit and pay the fees for their work permit application.
The Work Permit Application Assessment is carried out by IEC and could take up to 56 days, although applications submitted under the RO category are usually processed much faster. IEC will contact you if they require additional documents.
IRCC will complete your Application Assessment and, if successful, will send a Port of Entry (POE) Letter of Introduction (LOI) to your account. The POE LOI is valid for 12 months and you must bring it with you to Canada.
